Unearthing Dignity in Management Domain: A Systematic Review of Literature and Establishing Future Research Agenda

ABSTRACT

With roots in Greek and Roman mythology, the concept of dignity has garnered serious scholarly attention within management literature in recent times. With crucial implications for consumer behavior, ethical businesses, and marketplace cues designing, the current study thoroughly reviews the dignity domain following a systematic literature review protocol. Reviewing 82 management articles published in top-quality journals during 2001-2022, we organize the literature by applying the Theories, Contexts, Characteristics, and Methods (TCCM) framework. Finally, we locate major tensions within the literature and propose potential research questions for scholars.
